Margaret Patin became a full-time mathematics instructor for Vernon College in January 2004. Her teaching load includes developmental math, college algebra and contemporary mathematics. She was recently named the college's developmental math specialist and is involved in the process for certification of the mathematics program by the National Association of Developmental Education (NADE). She has been an active member of NADE and was a presenter at the 2006 annual meeting.
Previous teaching assignments in mathematics include adjunct postions at several universities and community colleges, as well as public schools from 8th grade through high school AP Calculus courses in South Carolina, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas. She holds a B. S. from Mississippi State University and an M.Ed. from Midwestern State University.
